As a locally owned business, we want to support local.
One of our favorite non-profit organizations is the Dartmouth Community Fridge. We've committed to time weekly to help shop and stock the fridge as well as monetary donations quarterly.
Please check them out on their facebook site and support if you can!
About the fridge:
"We're a volunteer led project, for the community, by the community!
The fridge and pantry can be found at 61 Dundas Street in Dartmouth, next to our neighbors Christ Church. You are welcome to access the space 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You can take or leave food at any time.
One of the most important things to know is that we operate on the philosophy of mutual aid.
There is no sign up sheet and we don't monitor who visits or what they take. Fridge users are teh ones who can determine what they need, when they need it. There is no "too much". People are invited to enjoy the dignity of deciding what they need from the fridge, whether it's one item or a bag full or more.
Food security affects everyone. This space is accessed by individuals, small families and multi-generational familiesliving under one roof, sernios, youths, people have liver here their whole lives and newcomers.
All are welcome here. Judgement free. "
